Rules of Engagement

Please Acknowledge

Please take a moment to read and acknowledge the rules below.

Note: Participation in any event implies acceptance and agreement to the rules.

Track Limits

Track limits are strictly enforced! Be it a club event or a public lobby in Forza Motorsport. Understanding that hard racing and pushing the limits can result in the occasional off or abusing an apex. All drivers, regardless of their skill levels, should make every reasonable effort to maintain their vehicle within track limits at all times.

Racing Etiquette

DO NOT WRECK YOUR CLUB MATES! Wrecking club mates, particularly in public lobbies, should be avoided at all costs. And treat everyone as a club mate, whether it’s in a public lobby, club race, or while engaging with AI. Get in the habit of giving everyone the same respect.

Do not assume all contacts are hostile. Keep in mind that the average player in public lobbies is often someone just learning or knows little about racing etiquette. We all started somewhere, and none of us are the racing gods we pretend to be.

Retaliation should be avoided at all costs. If one or more individuals are too disruptive, leave, or learn to punish without violence. There are ways of removing someone from the racing surface with little or no contact. Don’t end up on someone else’s highlight reel looking like a jackass.

Friends and Invites

You are encouraged to invite friends to join the club and participate in club events. However, all new members must complete a probationary period. Any unsporting behavior will not be tolerated and may result in exclusion.

Comms

During open practices or public lobby races, you may feel free to discuss anything you wish. We support free speech and highly encourage discourse. Expect and welcome pushback. However, once the race briefing starts in league races, please keep all chatter to a minimum and race-related only.

We like to run a relaxed environment. To that end, smack talk (beyond friendly banter), angry or abusive outbursts, threats, racist or otherwise offensive voice/written communications will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with an individual, feel free to address them directly, offline, in private. Or suck it up and keep it to yourself. Take your petty squabbles elsewhere.

Driver Discipline

The absolute last thing we want to do is hand out penalties. Nobody likes a hall monitor, and we don’t want that job. But you animals go wild every now and then, and we need a way to contain it fairly. We have a zero tolerance policy for any shenanigans. If you become a disruption due to your actions, be it on track or on mic, you may be warned, penalized, or booted at our sole discretion.

Prizes

Some Hired Gun Racing leagues and events may offer a physical trophy or prize. Prizes will be subject to club funding available. Winner must pay for shipping. Winner may order more than one trophy, and/or request a custom trophy for an additional cost when available.
